NATCHITOCHES, LOUISIANA — The Natchitoches Jazz/R&B Festival has been named by the readers of “Ride Texas” Magazine as the tenth-best festival in the southwest in the recent “Reader’s Choice Awards” poll conducted by the magazine. The decision was announced in the March 2008 issue which is currently on newsstands.

The readers named Austin City Limits as the number one festival in the region. Other notables include the New Orleans Jazzfest at number seven and the Willie Nelson’s Fourth of July picnic at number eight. “Ride Texas” caters to motorcycle riders in Texas and the southwest. This year marks the tenth year of publication for the magazine.

”We are extremely excited to have been given this great honor,” said Jazz/R&B Fest chairman John Evans. “We always try and put on a great show and this indicates that we must be doing something right. When you think of all the great music festivals there are in this region, it’s amazing they would put us in the top ten.”

The 2008 Natchitoches Jazz/R&B Festival will be held on the first weekend in April on the downtown riverbank in Natchitoches. For further information, visit www.natchjazzfest.com.
