NATCHITOCHES ” The City of Natchitoches Main Street Program will sponsor the ninth annual Bloomin’ on the Bricks on Saturday, March 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the downtown riverbank in Natchitoches’ Historic Landmark District.
The spring garden festival will feature a vendor area where merchants will sell and display items related to garden and lawn care such as plants, trees, patio furniture, accessories, etc. Vendor spaces are available for $50 per each 10X10 space, which includes electricity.
Bloomin’ on the Bricks will also feature musical entertainment, food booths and a children’s activity tent. Other activities include a speaker’s series and demonstrations on gardening-related topics.
Bloomin’ on the Bricks, which is being organized by the Natchitoches Main Street Program and the City Beautification Department, is a celebration of spring in the City’s Historic District. Visitors will be able to see the beauty of springtime in downtown Natchitoches through its hanging flower baskets and thousands of daffodils and tulips planted along the riverbank.
The Natchitoches Art Guild and Gallery will sponsor “Art Along the Bricks,� an outdoor art show on Front Street, the same day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Over 40 artists will display fine arts and crafts along Front Street. In addition to these events, the Natchitoches Historic District Business Association will sponsor “Bargains on the Bricksâ€?, a sidewalk sale on March 28. The evening will be topped off by a free concert by “Shake, Rattle & Roll.” A ladies group specializing in music from the 50s and 60s. Reserved seating will be sold.
