NATCHITOCHES, LOUISIANA … The Cane River Irish Marching Club presents a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration & Parade along downtown Natchitoches on March 14, 2009.
The St. Patrick’s Day parade, starting at 11 am, will consist of anyone wanting to dress up and participate and join the fun. Marchers will dispense beads, candy and other favors to spectators. Beads are available for distribution but participates are asked to bring their own candy. Lineup begins at 10:15 AM at First Baptist Church on Second Street.
The Natchitoches/Northwestern Symphony will host an outdoor children’s concert at 2 pm on the downtown riverbank. The concert is free and open to the public.
An evening pub crawl for adults will begin at 5:00 pm. Join the fun for chances to win $100’s in prizes! Participating downtown restaurants include Antoon’s Riverfront Restaurant, Pioneer Pub, Mama’s Oyster House and Cane River Bar & Grill, which will have live entertainment by 7 Hours to Southland until midnight. The Pot O’ Gold will be announced at 10 pm.
The Cane River Irish Marching Club is looking for any school bands, marching groups or dance lines that would be interested in participating.
