Natchitoches, LA - The Natchitoches Convention & Visitors Bureau has planned week-long activities in observance of National Tourism Week, May 18-22, 2009.
National Tourism Week is held in conjunction with National Tourism Month, which is held May of each year, to raise the level of tourism awareness among residents of the community and to recognize the many economic, educational and recreational benefits of tourism. Each year, tourism creates over a $1 million impact in the economy of Natchitoches.
Activities planned by the Visitor’s Bureau include an on-air trivia contest, called the Great Natchitoches trivia game, aired by Baldridge Dumas Communications. If you think you know all about Natchitoches, listen to the following stations for your chance to win a tourism gift bag: KZBL 100.7, KDBH 97.5, KWLV 107.1 and KVCL 92.1.
Make sure to look for the “You are Welcome Here” signs in the windows of area businesses.
For more information about planned events, contact the Convention & Visitors Bureau at (800) 259-1714.
The on-air trivia was made possible by contributions from the City of Natchitoches, Natchitoches Area Chamber of Commerce and the Natchitoches Alligator Park.
