Bust front CNATCHITOCHES, LA- Park Rangers from Cane River Creole National Historical Park will continue to offer FREE  guided walking tours of the Natchitoches Historic District. The tours will take place Thursdays-Sundays, starting at 10:00 a.m. Each tour will begin at the Cunningham law office located at 550 Second Street in downtown Natchitoches.

The tour covers 300 years of Natchitoches history. Along the route visitors will learn about landmarks associated with early European settlement, the Creole culture, the Civil War, African American history, and modern preservation efforts.

Tours will take place Thursday-Sunday at 10 a.m. during the month of June.

  • June 1, 2013 @ 10 a.m.  (An additional tour will begin at 3 p.m. on June 1st, only)
  • June 8, 2013 @ 10 a.m.
  • June 15, 2013 @ 10 a.m.
  • June 22, 2013 @ 10 a.m.
  • June 29, 2013 @ 10 a.m.

Each tour lasts approximately 90 minutes and covers a distance of just over 0.5 miles. Visitors should be prepared to climb stairs and ramps. We are also strongly encouraging visitors to bring bottled water.
