Revolutionary War Grave Marking Ceremony

American Cemetery On Saturday, April 26, 2014, a Revolutionary War Grave Marking Ceremony honoring Natchitoches resident Remy Lambre will be held at the American Cemetery at 10 a.m. The Natchitoches Chapter Sons of the American Revolution will be hosting the ceremony, wherein the chapter will place a bronze marker on the grave of Lambre.

Dedication of the Susan Harling Robinson Memorial Garden

Susan Harling Robinson Garden The dedication of the Susan Harling Robinson Memorial Garden and will be held at the corner of Pine Street and Cypress Street on Saturday, April 26, 2014. After her death, Susan's brother, Robert Harling, wrote the play "Steel Magnolias".

Cane River Green Market 2014 Season Opens April 26

The Cane River Green Market will open its 2014 season on Saturday, April 26 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Natchitoches' local farmer's market will feature Cane River Green Market vendors, live musical entertainment, children's activities, demonstrations and a free Zumba class. Customers will be able to choose from a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, value-added products such as jams, jellies, baked goods, farm fresh eggs, and honey, as well as handcrafted items including jewelry, woodwork, and candles.

Northwest Louisiana History Museum Welcomes New Exhibit

Sacraments and Vows, a new exhibit at the Northwest Louisiana History Museum in Natchitoches, is now open. The exhibit was installed by the Association for the Preservation of Historic Natchitoches as part of its year-long Tri-Centennial program. The Museum's Branch Manager, Jennae Biddiscombe said, ‘We are proud to participate in the 300th anniversary of Natchitoches with not only our Tri-Centennial exhibit Faces of Natchitoches but also by hosting several of the APHN exhibits throughout the year, starting with the ‘Sacred Faith Theme' exhibit.
